SPECTACULAR WILDLIFE

Visitors to Lewa are treated to the most spectacular wildlife viewing that Kenya has to offer. Lion, leopard and jackal stalk the diversity of prey inhabiting the rolling plains north of Mt Kenya. The Wildlife Conservancy is home to the largest concentration of Grevy’s zebra in the world, not to mention diverse birdlife and over 200 Black and White rhino. Here, animal encounters are inevitable, and unforgettable.

AUTHENTIC COMFORT

Large tented bedrooms with verandahs and full en-suite bathrooms. Cosy log fires, perfect for relaxing after a day on safari. Lewa is a favoured destination of conservationists, writers, celebrities and Royals. And Lewa Safari Camp is the only tourist facility owned by the Conservancy. This means all profits and conservancy fees generated by the camp are reinvested directly into conservation and community efforts.

About Laikipia Plateau

LEWA CONSERVATION

Lewa Wildlife Conservancy, spanning 65,000 acres, offers stunning views of Mt. Kenya and varied landscapes. This sanctuary harbours diverse wildlife, with over 70 mammal species, including a significant rhino population. It's renowned for successful breeding programmes, benefiting endangered rhinos and Grevy's zebras.

Lewa's conservation efforts extend to the community, focusing on healthcare, education, and more. Initially a cattle ranch, it transitioned into a conservation stronghold, inspiring similar initiatives in the region. The Anti-Poaching Team, featuring tracking dogs Ruby and Sacha, plays a vital role in safeguarding wildlife and communities.

Lewa exemplifies a harmonious blend of conservation and community development.
